Pinterest - Peaked my Interest

I'm usually pretty slow to things and so when my student teacher kept telling me about Pinterest I just kept ignoring her. Finally, I checked it out. I'm hooked. So hooked, in fact, that I had to delete my Facebook account because I didn't have time (or self-discipline) for both. And, what I like best about Pinterest is that it is helpful and uplifting and fun. There is absolutely no drama there. There are only things that you are interested in because you can ignore all that you aren't interested in.

It has changed the way my family eats. We are Bountiful Basket regulars and sometimes you just can't use up all that butternut squash, kale, and eggplant. But, on Pinterest, you can find links that will take you to exciting recipes (and crafts - a quick search of butternut squash had several craft ideas) that you can try. I know you can Google that but Pinterest is more fun. Did you know that ice cream can be made from bananas in a food processor? Just frozen bananas and nothing else (maybe a little chocolate syrup if you like that). Amazing! And it's delicious.

We have found many recipes that are now family favorites and will pop-up regularly on the monthly menu. Speaking of monthly menus, I found a menu template that works perfectly for us on Pinterest. Katy needed an earring hanger. We found a great idea for one on Pinterest -  made from a cheese grater. Who knew?

My teaching has totally been transformed. There are so many ideas for teachers out there. I'm currently using a bunch and it is helping with motivation, homework, and learning. I love this small group Spelling center.

The students love it too. I also got some great ideas for comprehension posters and writing posters. AWESOME!!! Its like sharing  your good ideas with your coworkers but on a global scale. How great is that?

Technology is amazing if used in the right way. Pinterest is definitely a "right way". I bet you can find bad stuff on there too but I never have because I don't search for it. I like that. It is safe!

Life is Good - and Pinterest adds just a bit more excitement.
