Birthdays and Birds

Today the twins turned 14. Fourteen years ago my life made quite a turn and it seems to be turning and spinning faster and faster everyday. We have three VERY busy  healthy teenage girls filling the atmosphere in this house. They are beautiful and opinionated. They are passionate about some things but not clean bedrooms. They fight like sisters and laugh until they cry like best friends. They dedicate themselves to their sports of choice and attend practices and games. That is keeping us busy right now. This week we only have 9 games to attend. I can't believe how old they are getting and how crazy things are.

Tonight I went driving with McKenna to take pictures of birds for a biology project. She drove. It was my job to spot. I was doing a terrible job of spotting. McKenna on the other hand was "spottin' those things right and left." She drove, spotted, and took pictures. My job was modified to just putting the car in park when we stopped. She hardly needed me.

I guess that is one of the good parts of being a parent. We get to watch our kids start to take the reins and lead their own lives. I'm loving it but wishing it wasn't happening so soon.

Life is Good - busy but good.

I'm sure you're counting the days until you have a missionary. Talk about life changing.

Happy Birthday girls!! I remember the phone call when they were born... Jessica turned 14 a couple of weeks ago. Remember that? She was the Jolly Green Giant next to those two. Life goes WAY TOO FAST I agree.
